Day in the Forge #12

Strength Enough to Ask for Help

August 2, 2026 · Galatians 6:2 · Daily Devotional for Men
"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." — Galatians 6:2

Many men are willing to help everyone except themselves.

We will show up when a brother calls. We will solve the problem, carry the load, and stay late when someone else needs us. But when our own burden becomes heavy, we grow quiet.

We tell ourselves we should be able to handle it.

We do not want to look weak. We do not want to become a burden. So we isolate, smile, and keep saying, “I’m fine.”

Brother, strength is not pretending the weight is light.

Real strength is knowing when the load was never meant to be carried alone.

God created brotherhood for more than good times and surface-level conversation. He gave us men who can pray with us, correct us, encourage us, and help us stand when our strength is running low.

You do not have to tell everyone everything. But you should have at least one trusted man who knows the truth about your life.

Letting a brother help you does not make you weak. It gives him the opportunity to fulfill the same calling you would gladly fulfill for him.

Reflection

What burden have you been carrying alone because you are afraid of how another man might see you?

Prayer

Father, forgive me for confusing isolation with strength. Give me the humility to tell the truth and the wisdom to choose trustworthy brothers. Help me receive support without shame and offer that same support to others. Amen.

Today's Challenge

Reach out to one trusted man today. Do not send a vague “How are you?” text. Tell him honestly about one thing you are carrying and ask him to pray with you.

Stay in the Fight. ⚒️

Keep walking through the fire

Forged by Fire is a book about the cost of isolation and the power of brotherhood. If this hit something, the book goes further.
