Check the Foundation
A man can build a lot and still be building on the wrong foundation.
He can build a business, a career, a reputation, a bank account, a body, a home, and even a public image. But if God is not the foundation, the weight will eventually expose the weakness.
Leadership starts underneath what people see.
It starts with your heart. Your faith. Your discipline. Your private life. The way you treat your family when no one is watching. The way you handle correction. The way you respond when pressure hits. The way you reach out instead of isolating and pretending you are fine.
Brother, do not just ask God to bless what you are building.
Ask Him to inspect the foundation.
Some things may need to be strengthened. Some things may need to be removed. Some things may need to be rebuilt the right way.
That is not failure.
That is mercy.
God loves you too much to let you build a life that looks strong but cannot stand.
Today, slow down long enough to ask the harder question: Am I building this with God, or am I just asking Him to approve what I already decided?
A strong man does not fear inspection.
He welcomes it because he wants what lasts.
What area of your life looks productive on the outside but needs God to strengthen the foundation underneath?
Father, search the foundation of my life. Show me where I have been building in my own strength, pride, fear, or hurry. Teach me to build my faith, family, leadership, work, and brotherhood on You. Give me the humility to correct what needs correcting and the courage to rebuild anything that is not solid. Amen.
Take ten minutes today and write down the main things you are building right now. Then pray over each one and ask, "Lord, is this built on You?" Share one honest answer with a trusted brother.
Keep walking through the fire
Forged by Fire is a book about the cost of isolation and the power of brotherhood. If this hit something, the book goes further.
