Day in the Forge #15

Carry What Is Not Yours Alone

August 5, 2026 · Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 · Daily Devotional for Men
"If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up." — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

A strong man does not ignore another man’s weight. He notices it.

Leadership is not always standing in front. Sometimes it is sitting beside someone who is struggling and refusing to let him carry the load alone. Brotherhood is built in those moments, not through polished words, but through presence, honesty, and action.

You may not be able to fix what another man is facing. That is not always your job. Your job may simply be to listen, pray, make the call, show up, or remind him that his struggle does not make him weak.

Most men will not tell you what they are carrying. They will tell you they are fine, and they will mean it as an answer, not an invitation. Notice him anyway.

Do not wait until his burden becomes a crisis before you go looking for him.

Reflection

Which man in my life has gone quiet lately, and when did I last check on him?

Prayer

God, make me aware of the men around me who are carrying more than they say. Give me the courage to show up for them and the humility to let others show up for me. Amen.

Today's Challenge

Think of the man you have not heard from in a while. Do not text him. Go to him, or call and stay on the line, and ask what he is carrying right now. Then listen without rushing to fix it.

Stay in the Fight. ⚒️

Keep walking through the fire

Forged by Fire is a book about the cost of isolation and the power of brotherhood. If this hit something, the book goes further.
