Carry the Weight Together
One of the lies men believe is that strength means carrying everything alone.
We carry stress, pressure, bills, marriage struggles, business problems, parenting worries, fear, regret, and exhaustion. Then when someone asks how we are doing, we say, "I'm fine."
But being strong does not mean being silent. It does not mean pretending nothing hurts. It does not mean refusing help from the men God placed around us.
Real strength is knowing when the load is too heavy to carry alone.
God did not design men to live isolated. He designed us for brotherhood. He gave us other men to sharpen us, challenge us, pray with us, correct us, and help carry the weight when life gets heavy.
There will be days when you are the one holding another man up. There will also be days when you need someone to hold you up.
That is not weakness.
That is obedience.
A man who refuses help may look strong for a season, but isolation will eventually wear him down. A man who walks with brothers can stay in the fight longer because he does not have to fight alone.
What burden are you carrying right now that you need to stop hiding?
Father, give me the humility to admit when I need help and the courage to reach out instead of pretending I am fine. Surround me with men who sharpen me, and make me the kind of man who helps carry the burdens of others. Teach me to walk in brotherhood, not isolation. Amen.
Reach out to one man today and ask him how he is really doing. Then be honest with someone about something you have been carrying.
Keep walking through the fire
Forged by Fire is a book about the cost of isolation and the power of brotherhood. If this hit something, the book goes further.
