Day in the Forge #17

Do the Next Right Thing

August 7, 2026 · Luke 16:10 · Daily Devotional for Men
"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much." — Luke 16:10

Most men do not lose ground all at once. It usually happens through small compromises, delayed decisions, and promises we keep pushing to tomorrow.

The opposite is also true.

Character is built in small acts of obedience. Making the call you have been avoiding. Keeping the commitment no one else would know you broke. Putting the phone down when your family needs your attention. Doing the work when motivation is gone.

You do not need to fix your entire life today. You need to be faithful with what is directly in front of you.

Discipline is rarely dramatic. It is choosing the next right thing, then choosing it again.

Reflection

What small responsibility have I been avoiding because it feels easier to deal with later?

Prayer

God, give me the discipline to be faithful in the small things. Help me stop waiting for the perfect moment and obey You in what is already in front of me. Build integrity in me through the choices no one else sees. Amen.

Today's Challenge

Identify one thing you have been putting off and finish it today. No excuses, no moving it to tomorrow. Do the next right thing.

Stay in the Fight. ⚒️

Keep walking through the fire

Forged by Fire is a book about the cost of isolation and the power of brotherhood. If this hit something, the book goes further.
